Neutral twins nursery
Well, it’s been a labour of love. It’s been a tad emotional completing this nursery and I of course wanted to fill it with so much more but there’s lots of time to add to it as it grows with them.
The layout isn’t as I imagined simply because, turns out, two cots take up a lot of room and this isn’t a large room by any stretch. We were so lucky to find that the cots could fit in along the length of the room- something we didn’t even measure because it seemed a ridiculous idea. This meant everything then didn’t go where I wanted it to but I am still happy. It doesn’t feel cramped.
If you read my previous post on planning it then you will have some idea about what I wanted to achieve. I wanted the room to feel more light and soft as Arlo’s room is very monochrome. But I still wanted that nod to my style with some softer touches. That’s quite the balance right!?
I have mentioned that I know I don’t need to complete a nursery because I have been so anxious this pregnancy and struggled to believe. However, being organised is part of who I am and it makes me all on edge not doing it all- the prospect of doing it after they arrive would be all too much for me. So I pushed my anxiety to the limits and did it. I organised the clothes and thus the whole wardrobe and dived straight in. Shocker- it took more white paint than I wanted it to. I used Dulux trade paint because it’s cheap and has good reviews for the walls and re-painted the cupboard from Arlo’s room in white eggshell Albany with some Calomine F and B from a tester pot around the doors and drawers.
I have linked the businesses included at the bottom of the post.
I really hope I can add more magic to this room in the future.
