Pregnancy shoot in Kent on the beach at Westbrook Bay, Margate. R wanted a relaxed, documentary shoot on the beach in Westbrook near where she lives and spends her time.
My Style
My style is documentary pregnancy photography, I was looking forward to capturing R and S at Westbrook in the sunset. We caught the most glorious January sunset shoot where the skin and bump glowed in the sun. We played with flowers and shadows with the bump and tried to explore an arty pregnancy shoot. In the editing part of the process, I was able to explore shadows further. Editing such as changing the photograph orientation for a fun approach to the shoot.

“I’d been looking to do a pregnancy shoot in Kent for a while. I didn’t like any of the images I was seeing online. All very staged and unnatural. I wanted a way to capture my growing body, whilst having significance to where we lived, the place my baby was to be born.
As soon as I saw some of Naomi’s previous shots and style of photography I knew she would be perfect for what I wanted and decided to book a session with her.
Naomi made me feel so comfortable and confident throughout the shoot, cheerleading me, making sure we were getting all the shots we’d discussed and making sure I didn’t get too cold, I barely noticed that I was in a bikini on the beach in January!
She also made my partner who was present feel helpful and involved.
Naomi understood exactly what I wanted from the shoot and the final photos were amazing.”
